Charles Leslie “Chuck” Bell, 67 of Lucasville, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at his residence. He was born on November 21, 1949 in Portsmouth the son of the late Clyde and Virginia Bell. Chuck was also preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Anna Bell; and brother, Clyde David Bell; 3 special nephews, Butch Long, Ralph Ruggles and John Bell. He was a Vietnam Army veteran, where he had obtained the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. Chuck had also drove truck for many companies, was an avid gun collector and Loved to wheel and deal, right up to the evening before he passed away.
     Chuck is survived by one son, Tommie (Sarah) Bell of West Portsmouth, three daughters, Crystal (David) Mills of Washington Courthouse, Terri (Sonny) Scott of West Portsmouth and Judy (Dale) Luper of Fayetteville, Ark; grandchildren, Chad (Amber) Bell, Dustin (Aubrey Kiger) Dickison, Isabella Harter, Tommie Bell, Jr.,  Mathew (Nicki) Boggs, Jonathon Boggs, Paige (Aaron) Scaff and Elizabeth Smith; 4 great granddaughters; 9 brothers and sisters, Sandra (Charles) Ruggles of Franklin Furnace, Cathy (Bill) Kirby of South Webster, Jeanne Jordan of South Webster, Tommy (Valerie) Bell of Hayes, VA, Jessie Cobb of Cheney, KS, Cindy (Gene) Floyd of Manning, SC, Clara (David) Shaffer of Portsmouth, Vicki (Terry) Moore of Yorktown, VA and Brian (Jackie) Bell of Wheelersburg; sister-in-law, Rita Bell and longtime caregiver and friend, Donna Sturgell.
      Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott, with Bob Smith officiating and graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. The family will receive friends at the Adkins-Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 11:30 a.m. until 1;30 p.m. on Monday. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.adkinsbrantfuneralhome.com
